Raphael Ugbonaghara

Raphael is an Associate in the Firm’s Regulatory, Compliance & Governance Department.

Raphael Uchenna Ugbonaghara (ACIS) has over four (4) years of experience working as a corporate lawyer providing legal services to companies. Prior to joining the Firm,  Raphael worked as the Legal Officer at African Industries Group, where he handled regulatory compliance and provided legal advice on commercial transactions, employee relations, and asset recovery. During his time there, he oversaw the acquisition of land for mining and developed policies to reduce losses and liability. He also worked as the Company Secretary at Vettal Mega Services Limited, where he drafted commercial agreements, managed regulatory compliance, and advised management on legal matters. Some of his tasks included preparing agreements for the transfer of vessels and reviewing and drafting MOAs and charter party agreements.

Raphael joined the Firm’s Regulatory, Compliance, and Governance department in May 2023, where he provides company secretarial services and implements corporate governance practices to clients in the oil, finance, and non-profit sectors.

Raphael is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and an Associate Member of the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN).
