Benjamin Amans

Benjamin is a Senior Associate in the Firm's Corporate Commercial Practice unit and Deputy Sector Head of the Financial Services Sector of the Firm.

He regularly advises international and local clients on capital markets (including asset-backed commercial paper issuances, mutual funds, and shariah-compliant financing), mergers and acquisitions, project finance, joint ventures, and other strategic commercial arrangements.

Benjamin is prominent in the legal space for his consistent assistance to clients in structuring, negotiating, and documenting project and financing agreements tailored to suit their needs. He also provides risk mitigation advice relevant to their business strategies. His client-focused, multidisciplinary approach and commercial awareness enable him to provide bespoke solutions to client’s legal and commercial challenges.

Notable transactions include advising:

• DLM Asset Management Limited on the N500 Billion issuance programme by Nigeria Road infrastructure Tax Credit Fund.
• Prime-X RE SPV Limited on its US$20 Million combined notes issuance programme.
• Metrowaves Sports and Infrastructure Limited on the N7 billion financing of an entertainment arena development project;
• China EXIM Bank on the US$2 Billion financing of the Kano State light rail project; and
• Brains & Hammers (UK) Limited on its US$4 Million Fixed Rate Secured Private Note Issuance; and
• On the US$7.2 Million loan refinancing facility to Aarti Steel Nigeria Limited.
