NAFDAC Raises Tariffs, Suspends Same After Stakeholders Complaints

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is the federal agency with regulatory authority to regulate and control the importation, exportation, manufacture, advertisement, distribution, sale and use of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, bottled water and chemicals in Nigeria.

Recently, NAFDAC announced a new tariff regime for the services rendered to its customers. The new tariff provided for increase in registration fees, clinical trial fees, facility and port inspection fees, laboratory analysis fees, permit issuance fees, investigation charges, and ancillary fees such as; fees for advertisement, change in brand name, change in variants, change of agencyship (local representatives), change of pack size, change in label and design, administrative approval fees, etc.
