The Burundian Ministry of Commerce has issued a notice dated February 27, 2023, requesting that all trademarks registered before July 28, 2009, be renewed with the Industrial Property Department before January 1, 2025. After this deadline, only one grace period of 6 months will be granted upon payment of late renewal fees.

Kindly note that under the Burundi Trademark Law, trademark registrations in Burundi are valid for a ten years from the date of application and may be renewed for additional period of 10 years.
