About

He is a renowned expert in Capital Markets transactions advisory, but he is equally fluent in Banking & Finance, Project Finance, Real Estate, Immigration, Project Development and Mergers & Acquisitions. In addition, he is renowned for giving clients sound business advice that revolutionizes their businesses. 

Stand-out deals include Koye’s advisory role on the sale of the Nigerian Federal Government’s outstanding interest in Capital Hotel Plc (the owners of the Abuja Sheraton Hotel & Towers) and the Purchase and Assumption involving the assets and liabilities of the former All States Trust Bank by Ecobank Plc, as well as the assets and liabilities the former Lead Assurance Bank by Afribank Plc.  

As a Master of Project Development and Finance, Koye was central to a project involving a telecommunication company laying a submarine fibre-optic cable across the Atlantic, with landing points in several countries across Europe and Africa. Here Koye advised local commercial lenders on the legal structure of this cross-border transaction and its financing: a US$240 million syndicated loan from commercial lenders and development finance institutions.  

He has conducted negotiations in respect of several real estate projects, advising on finance and zoning rights and is knowledgeable in town planning laws and regulations. As a skilled negotiator, Koye engages in negotiations with property owners and host communities for the purchase of properties. 

He leads the team that manages the immigration portfolio of corporates, providing each with bespoke services and comprehensive assistance on regulatory compliance. He also advises on all aspects of Foreign Direct Investment. 

Koye is a director of all the companies in the Moorhouse Group, a real estate and hospitality company. He is also an adviser to the A.P Moller – Maersk Group and former Director of African Alliance Insurance Company and Pension Alliance Limited. As well as being a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association and having served as its Chairman of the Law Office Practice Committee/Business Law Section, Koye is a Council Member of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation – an affiliate of the World Wildlife Fund for Nature. 

He is ranked as a leading lawyer in the IFLR and described by Chamber Global Review as “a good businessman who provides invaluable advice”.   He has been consistently nominated as a leading practitioner in Who’s Who Legal publication.
