Mark Uguru

Mark advises clients on regulatory strategy, licensing, compliance frameworks and the structuring of complex projects and businesses. He has supported public institutions and MDAs on commercialisation and PPP initiatives involving regulatory approvals, procurement requirements, project structuring and the development of policy and compliance frameworks.

He also advises local and international businesses entering or expanding within regulated markets in Nigeria, including on business establishment, product registrations, sector specific licences, importation and distribution arrangements and ongoing regulatory compliance.

His financial services experience includes advising financial institutions on CBN licensing, SEC registrations, FCCPC matters, competition and consumer protection requirements, and other regulatory approvals. He also develops governance and compliance frameworks and conducts legal and regulatory audits, compliance gap assessments and remediation exercises.

Mark has participated in regulatory engagements involving agencies such as the CBN, FCCPC and NCC. Prior to joining the Firm, he worked as Senior Legal Counsel with a Free Zone Administration company, advising on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters across oil and gas, power, infrastructure and Free Zone investments.

He is also a member of the Firm’s Technology, Media and Entertainment Sector, bringing a commercial and practical approach to regulatory and compliance matters.
