Cecilia Otse

Cecilia Otse is an Associate in the Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets Practice at Jackson, Etti & Edu. She advises clients on a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial transactions, with particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, banking and finance, capital markets, corporate restructurings and regulatory advisory.

Her experience spans the full lifecycle of complex transactions, including legal due diligence, transaction structuring, drafting and negotiation of transaction documentation, regulatory approvals, completion mechanics and post-completion implementation. She regularly advises clients on regulatory matters involving the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), National Pension Commission (PenCom) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

Cecilia has advised on several significant domestic and cross-border transactions across the financial services, agribusiness, insurance, gaming, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. Her recent experience includes advising on the merger of Providus Bank Limited and Unity Bank Plc, the proposed disposal of Letshego's Nigerian microfinance banking business, the proposed acquisition of BetKing, the acquisition of Anzo Group by Bally's Intralot S.A., commercial paper and sukuk issuances, private equity investments, and complex financing and corporate restructuring transactions.

Known for her analytical approach and commercial mindset, Cecilia works closely with clients to navigate complex regulatory frameworks, mitigate transaction risk and achieve commercially efficient outcomes.
