Cyril Okechukwu

Chinemerem (Cyril) Okechukwu is a commercially minded lawyer with a strong foundation in dispute resolution, mergers and acquisitions, commercial advisory, and intellectual property. He combines legal analysis with commercial insight to help clients navigate complex legal and business issues, with a growing focus on taxation, finance, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and intellectual property protection.

Since being called to the Nigerian Bar, Cyril has been involved in a number of notable transactions and advisory mandates. He was part of the team that advised Providus Bank Limited on its landmark merger with Unity Bank Plc, one of Nigeria's most significant banking sector transactions. He is also currently undergoing training with the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Team, reflecting his commitment to developing expertise in protecting and commercialising intellectual property assets.

Prior to joining the firm, Cyril gained valuable experience as an intern at leading law firms in Nigeria, where he worked on legal research, client advisory, and business development initiatives. His multidisciplinary exposure has enabled him to develop a practical and commercially focused approach to legal problem-solving.

Cyril is an Accredited Mediator of the Mediators Training Institute and a member of the International Law Association. He graduated with Magna Cum Laude honours from both the University and the Nigerian Law School, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence and professional development.

Outside his legal practice, Cyril enjoys travelling, exploring nature, reading, and spending quality time with family.
