Toyosi Odunmbaku is a formidable advocate for IP rights, actively litigating high-stakes cases in Nigeria's top courts and handling opposition matters at the Trademarks Registry. With experience in complex disputes across various sectors, including contractual, shareholder, and intellectual property cases, he has successfully coordinated enforcement actions against counterfeiters, making him a trusted guardian for brands and products.
Toyosi has led successful high-profile cases, including a NGN 5 billion damages award for a multinational FMCG manufacturer in a trademark infringement case and a US$500 million damages award for a multinational automobile manufacturer in a landmark appeal. He also resolved a shareholders' dispute, securing an €8 million settlement for a medical diagnostics client in Nigeria.
Toyosi is a specialist in crisis management, dawn raids, and risk assessment, helping companies mitigate risks and comply with anti-money laundering requirements. He also handles labor and employment matters, currently co-leading a team defending 164 cases against an oil servicing company in Nigeria.
