About
She is the current head of our Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector and the current sector head of the firms Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, where she exercises more than 10 years of industry experience to benefit our blue-chip clients.
She is particularly adept at IP prosecution and enforcement across Africa as well as cross-border prosecution of large trademark and patent portfolios, anti-counterfeiting, and infringement management strategies. She is particularly skilful at drafting complex IP agreements. She is deeply involved in the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) related subjects; Commercial IP transactions; trademark registrations; franchising, licensing and assignment-related issues; domain name registrations and challenges before the relevant regulatory bodies; and formulation of IP policies and strategies.
Widely considered a thought leader, Chinwe has authored many globally commended IP-related articles. She contributes to the Kluwer Law International Manual, the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Training “SMART Chart“ on Intellectual Property, and The Franchise Law Review.
She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Trademark Attorneys (CITMA); International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys (FICPI); and Pharmaceutical Trademarks Group (PTMG); and has served as a moderator for the International Trademark Association (INTA) – table topic, “Harmonization of Trademark Rights and Domain Name Damages – The Africa Domain Registration and Reverse Domain Name Hijacking”.
