About
Nkem has extensive experience in commercial transactions, with expertise in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial agreements, as well as providing legal advisory services on commercial issues impacting clients' businesses. Her notable projects include advising on the rebranding of The Nigerian Stock Exchange to NGX Group of Companies, including modalities for market, product, and index rebranding post-demutualization. She also advised NGX Group of Companies on operational plans, preparing contracts for asset and liability transfers between emerging companies, drafting service level agreements for shared services, and assigning contracts during the demutualization and restructuring of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc.
She has expertise in negotiation, drafting, and reviewing various contracts, including commercial, real estate, joint venture, consultancy, license, reseller, such as contracts of sale, facility management agreements, dredging contracts, software licenses, master services agreements, and intellectual property and technology agreements, as well as service level agreements.
Nkem has held key roles, including secretary of the Legal Committee of the Africa Exchanges Linkage Project (AELP) until May 2024, and member of the Reconstituted Policy and Regulatory Working Group of the Africa Securities Exchange Association (ASEA). She's a two-time finalist for the "In-House Rising Star" award at the African Legal Awards (2020 and 2021) and a recipient of the ESQ Legal "40 Under 40" Rising Star Award in 2022.
